All SENY applicants are required to be full-time, senior-level safety professionals within their respective organizations. Prospective members will fall into one of the following categories:
Executive Member
Executive members are the highest-ranking safety professionals in their respective organizations, with a minimum of five years in that role and a minimum of one year with their current organization. Applicants are expected to have experience in program development, management of personnel within their department (where applicable), and overall responsibility for the implementation of environmental, safety, and health programs and executive direction across their organization within the metropolitan New York area (regional safety executives in this area are eligible for membership application in these instances).
Executive members are granted active status in all matters where a vote is required and are also eligible for participation in the SENY Board following one (1) year of active membership as determined by the current Board.
Associate Member
Associate Members are individuals who have recently moved into the safety executive role within their organization (less than five years of experience in that capacity). Associate members are granted all of the general membership privileges of full members, however, they are not included in matters where a vote may be required and are not eligible for Board participation until the five-year milestone has been met.
Out of Town Member
Out of Town Members are those individuals outside of the “NY Metropolitan Area” who meet the criteria of full membership but are not in a reasonably commutable distance from which they can attend events and/or meetings.
